7/16 (11mm) x 107 feet of Double Braid Polyester/XHMPE (Dyneema) Line. Uses: Halyards, Mainsheets, Jibsheets, Control Lines, Tie-down rope, Utility Cord. New England Ropes Viper Line is a high tech double braid. The polyester cover and New England Ropes HMPE core create a low-stretch no creep performance line that is lightweight with good UV resistance. The HMPE core creates an abrasion resistant, low stretch line built for durability.
It's performance is very similar to lines made with Dyneema SK-75. Because Viper offers lower stretch at a lower price, it is a great economical choice for sailors who are tired of halyards stretching. Terrific cruising main and jib halyard, especially for furling jibs that stay aloft all the time. With improved strength over solid polyester lines makes for good main and jib/genoa sheets that see high loads. Designed with the casual racer and offshore cruiser in mind, Viper will result in noticeable performance improvements when used for mainsheets, halyards, or jib sheets. The polyester cover is easy to hold onto, and holds well in cleats and clutches. The durable polyester cover is easy to handle, cleat and clutch and does not absorb water. Core Material: New England Ropes HMPE. The New England Ropes HMPE core creates a high strength, low stretch, no-creep alternative to higher priced high-tech lines. The coated core is constructed with a compact weave for durability when the cover is removed. The core is easy to splice. This core allows Viper to fill the gap between performance polyester lines and ultra-high performance racing lines. Can be melted, however end whips are recommended for durability and to prevent cover and core from separating over time. Viper can be easily spliced with a high tech double braid splice.
